Do you want to be part of a growing team, working on challenging Oil & Gas projects? Do you want to contribute to the expansion of onshore gas and LNG technical knowledge in Ramboll? Do you want to lead multidisciplinary projects being able to use your strong technical skills? Then we might have the right job for you.
Technical expert and a lead process engineer
As a lead process engineer one of your roles will be to act as lead engineer on multidisciplinary projects. As part of this, you will be a valued sparring partner with crucial technical insight and a good overview of the project and tasks. In this role, you will act as supervisor for a team of process engineers and you will liaise with other disciplines to ensure design consistency. Approximately 50% of your time will be used on technical tasks such as review of process design documents and calculations. In addition, you will also lead and perform smaller challenging and interesting projects where your strong technical and theoretical background will be put into use. Finally, you will contribute to the technical development of the process skills and knowledge in the department.
We offer you the opportunity to work with tasks such as:
- Coordination of technical information between disciplines, internally and externally
- Supporting the project management team in planning, client interfacing and identification of technical issues that could delay progress and have an impact on project budgets
- Perform design review tasks
- Review of process design including system descriptions, process simulations and heat and mass balances
- Review and preparation of process and utility flow diagrams, as well as piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Review and specification of process equipment, such as separators, compressors, valves and pumps
- Lead and perform smaller and challenging specialised process studies, such as debottlenecking studies of (mainly) onshore oil and gas plants as well as due diligence tasks
- Participation in proposal preparation
Strong technical and emphatic sparring partner
You have a strong technical and theoretical process background and are interested in further development of your own as well as the team’s skills within process engineering in order to develop the department further. It comes naturally to you to set clearly defined objectives, to plan activities and projects well and to take account of possible changing circumstances. You have a good overview and are able to have several “balls in the air” while being very focused on quality and deadlines. You have the ability to communicate clearly in a positive manner and you provide constructive feedback, when working with your colleagues. It is important that you are talented in establishing good relationships with clients and colleagues and that you relate well to people at all levels. At the same time, you have an eye for detail and quality and you know what it takes to write excellent reports.
To succeed in the role, you need the following competencies:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical engineering
- Min. 10 years of experience within the Oil and Gas industry
- Min. 5 years of experience as a senior and lead engineer with tasks such as:
- Feasibility, concept and FEED studies
- Supervision, review and check of work carried out by other engineers
- Experience with multidisciplinary projects, preferably with international projects
- Previous work on small scale LNG projects is an advantage
