Job description

To enable Energy Systems to achieve its strategic ambitions and become future fit, we need leaders who drive business operations to meet customers’ expectations while also continuously improving the way we work. Region Northern Europe is therefore seeking a Project Controller to support one of our Service Areas to help ensure we meet our strategic goals.

The Project Controller is part of the regional Project Controlling team and reports to the regional Team Lead for Project Controllers. The Project Controller is working with Project Managers to minimize commercial risks on projects and maximize revenue and cash flow. Our Project Controlling team consists of around 40 people working in 7 different countries within our region. We are a balanced and dynamic team working together to support our business.

Primary tasks of this role:

  • Acts as business partner for Project and Line Managers by leading regular financial reviews of projects and portfolio of projects.
  • Works closely together with the Business Controller as a sparring partner and collaborate on common efforts in reaching the department's yearly targets.
  • Monitors, reports and advises on project financials status.
  • Analyzes and challenges input from Project Manager and Line Management where necessary. 
  • Be forward leaning and proactive in using new reports and analyzing tools. 
  • Analysis of projects for high risk items and informing business controllers where necessary.
  • Carrying out timely reviews of opportunities and bids in line with chart of authority limits.
  • Supports PMs and staff with basic financial queries and increasing awareness of commercial topics on projects.
  • Quality assures all accounting transactions and documents timely in compliance with company guidelines to ensure that the financial information is reliable.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Graduates with Master's degree are welcome to apply
  • Strong financial competence and experience especially around project accounting
  • Experience of working with the project module in Oracle is an advantage
  • Experience of working in PowerBI is an advantage
  • English language skills are required
  • High level of fluency (both written and oral) in Norwegian/Scandinavian is an advantage
