Maritime Advisory is providing support to customers in the Maritime industry globally in their efforts to make the right decisions to achieve profitable and sustainable results. Maritime Advisory combines deep domain expertise with an understanding of the industry and its stakeholders to assist customers tackle the transformations in the industry and ensure safe, digital and sustainable solutions.

Life Cycle Management supports maritime customers with technical & commercial advisory to build and operate their assets efficiently, safely and in compliance with rules and regulations. This includes due diligence, regulatory gap assessments, technology qualification and new build advisory services. Typical segments include offshore wind, gas carriers, alternative fuels and new technologies for GHG emission reductions.

Our team regularly act as an independent engineer to lenders, owners and investors for technical evaluations in transactions. Our analysis contributes to risk reduction, increased value, and lower transaction costs. Due to a high workload in our due diligence services, we are seeking to hire an enthusiastic and motivated principal / senior resource with surveyor experience from fleet in service to join our Life Cycle section in Høvik/Oslo.

Typical projects may include:

  • Technical due diligence related to transactions in the maritime industry
  • Technology qualification
  • Regulatory compliance review and advisory
  • Strategic advisory related to decarbonization, digitization and safety in newbuilding and retrofits
  • Useful economic life and retirement analysis of fleets and vessels

Responsibilities:

As a Principal / Senior Consultant, you will be performing the following tasks as part of a highly motivated team:

  • Work collaboratively across multiple organizations and as part of the DNV Maritime Advisory network to deliver projects across a range of practices and competences.
  • Work effectively and cooperatively as a team member with a wide variety of internal and external peers and clients.
  • Adapt well to the needs and expectations of a variety of customers.
  • Profile DNV’s Advisory experience and capabilities to current and potential Maritime clients.
  • Assist in marketing, sales and business development for our regional customers.
  • Willingness to travel at short notice
  • Conduct site and vessel inspections as an integral part of our advisory services

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (E.G. Naval Architect or Marine Engineering) is required. Master's degree is preferred
  • We are looking for a candidate with
    • previous experience as surveyor in fleet in service or alternatively an approval engineer with site experience
    • good knowledge of maritime / offshore rules and regulations
  • International experience is a plus
  • Ability to apply knowledge and analytical skills to solve complex technical challenges and work on several projects in parallel
  • Self-propelled and energetic
  • Quality centered and accurate
  • Excellent team player
  • Creative and innovative with the ability to approach challenges from different angle
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
