Job description

We are looking for a Lead Enterprise Architect to help accelerate the Energy Systems Business Area on the path of digital transformation. This role sits within our Innovation and Transformation team (part of the Growth, Innovation and Digital global unit) which is responsible for our strategy towards digital transformation of our business activities, including our IT strategy and coordinating our global approach for Innovation and Transformation.


  • The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and leading a global technical architecture program/roadmap within Energy Systems that can enable rapid digitalization wherein new and existing digitalized services fit and function within a coordinated secure ecosystem.
  • The lead enterprise architect will also ensure that we have a data architecture plan that can facilitate new services and the creation of unique insights for our customers.
  • The role will be a digital champion within the organisation, helping to facilitate a strong digitalisation culture within the organisation
  • Establish the global technical enterprise architecture program and roadmap that can transform Energy Systems as part of the new strategy.
  • Work with innovation/development teams to determine or influence technology and solution choices for upcoming developments and provide technical oversight. This may include determining preferred APIs, selecting third party vendors, establishing frameworks, ensuring compliance with digital security standards etc.
  • Support establishing data architecture strategy and requirements needed within Energy Systems, establishing shared principles and methods for data collections, data infrastructure and interfaces.
  • Liaise with internal IT functions, Digital Solutions Business Area and Veracity to ensure the Energy Systems architecture roadmap is linked with the wider strategic enterprise architecture plans.
  • Chair our IT governance board within Energy Systems which is responsible for aligning digital activities across functions.
  • Monitor and identify new digital technologies and assess potential impact and value for Energy Systems
  • Support the growth of the professional development community in Energy Systems able to deliver innovations to the necessary standards and best practices supported by the development teams in Veracity.
  • Support the evaluation of potential “digital” acquisitions where appropriate.

Position Qualifications

The candidate should be a qualified enterprise architect with experience of driving digitalisation programmes within large organisations to achieve strategic objectives as well as establishing application and data architectures.

The candidate must be self-driven, able to work independently and have a track record in successfully engaging with stakeholders and teams across a large organization, with the ability to persuade and influence.


  • Master-level education within IT or related fields
  • 10+ years of experience with software development, solution architecture and/or enterprise architecture
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure
  • Relevant certifications within enterprise architecture (TOGAF, ArchiMate or similar)
  • Experience with information security and privacy standards (GDPR, ISO 27001)
  • Experience with agile processes, methods and tools
  • Experience with our core platforms (Teamcenter, Salesforce, Oracle) would be beneficial.
