Höegh Autoliners is a global leader in Ro/Ro deep sea transportation services. The company owns and operates about 50 Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) in global trade systems, making around 3 000 port calls yearly. Managed from a worldwide network of around 20 offices, our main customers are major manufacturers of new cars, heavy machinery and other rolling stock. Höegh Autoliners is also a leading carrier of second-hand vehicles. Höegh Autoliners operate Terminal and Logistics

services for our global customers with two fully owner daughter companies that complement our RO/Ro services. In addition to the head office, centrally located in Oslo, Höegh Autoliners has a global network of subsidiaries and representative offices. The company has approximately 450 employees ashore and 1400 seafarers. Höegh Autoliners is a privately owned shipping company with two owners: Leif Höegh & Co Holdings AS as majority shareholder (61,25 per cent) and A.P.Møller – Maersk A/S (38,75 per cent).


Main responsibilities

  • Build up and manage the team and its interaction with stakeholders and colleagues. Manage budgets and costs, recruitment and other administrative related activities
  • The role needs to actively contribute, build and follow through business cases for potential projects and change initiatives
  • Project management of key strategic projects in the coming 3-5 years
  • Create strategic IT roadmaps and implement the portfolio of systems assigned to the team
  • Choice of technology and technical platform. Assessing current technologies together with the team and following development of new technologies
  • Process improvement and benchmarking against industry standards and best practices
  • Implementation of improvement projects to achieve higher efficiencies and levels of quality
  • Application management of software in the team’s portfolio. Introduction of DevOps in system and service management
  • Quality management through process improvement and establishment of key metrics
  • Vendor management and stakeholder management


  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical qualification
  • 5-10 years’ experience managing development teams
  • Prince 2 certification
  • Certification/education in agile project management techniques is an advantage. 
  • Experience in implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment in development teams
  • Experience implementing and using the Atlassian stack of tools or equivalent
  • Experience in data center management and operations is a plus.

  • Strong team player, with project leader capabilities 
  • Excellent communication skills in an international environment
  • Analytical, structured and solutions oriented
  • Good understanding of the benefits of automation and good coding practices
  • Experience in implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment in development teams
  • Experience implementing and using the Atlassian stack of tools or equivalent.
