The Offshore Wind and Renewables segment consists of 200 enthusiastic colleagues working from Denmark, Germany, Norway, and Taiwan, while closely collaborating with energy and marine colleagues in the United Kingdom, India, and North America - we embrace cultural diversity and highly value our social and friendly environment.

In Offshore Wind and Renewables, we deliver services within offshore and onshore wind, solar power, geothermal heating, and green fuels. We are a multidisciplinary team, where you will become a key contributor to the execution of our offshore wind projects, like Empire Wind (North America), St. Nazaire (France), Arcadis Ost (Germany). We are looking for candidates who are eager to play a central role in the design of substructures and foundations for offshore wind turbines, substations, or offshore installations in general during all project phases, from conceptual design to detailed design. As a hydrodynamic engineer, you will participate in metocean interpretation, load and response calculation, and preparation of design basis for bottom-fixed and floating structures design.

Reporting to Head of Section for Offshore Wind, you will be responsible for providing technical input to a wide range of offshore wind and renewables projects around the world.

You can look forward to an exciting position which includes:

  • Complex load assessment for design of bottom-fixed and floating offshore structures
  • Global hydrodynamic design and structural response
  • Advanced hydrodynamic analyses
  • Providing technical input to as well as discipline leadership on our projects
  • Following the latest developments in rules and regulations of for example Class Societies
  • Contribute to the development of COWI's technical execution model for offshore wind
  • Developing design methodologies and contributing to knowledge sharing
  • Interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines
  • Preparation of high-quality analyses and reports
  • Co-create with clients and building relationships with clients and other stakeholders
  • Supporting the technical and business development team in developing floating offshore wind project opportunities

You hold a B.SC., M.Sc. or PhD in marine engineering or naval architecture and are highly motivated to contribute to offshore wind and the green energy transition. You also have good communication skills in English (oral and written).

Furthermore, you may have:

  • Experience with hydrodynamic design, numerical analysis, and load assessments
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations, for example DNV, IEC or ISO
  • Experience with DNV SESAM software
  • Experience with automatization/programming in e.g. Python
  • Knowledge of aerodynamics is considered an advantage
