Job description

Hydro Energy has more than 100 years of experience in production of renewable energy. Today, we are one of the three largest operators of hydropower production in Norway and a large power market player in the Nordic region and Brazil. We are responsible for developing new business opportunities for Hydro within both renewable energy, hydrogen and batteries, and we provide support to the rest of Hydro’s business areas on contracts, security of supply and energy framework conditions.

Hydro is now actively developing business opportunities within batteries, hydrogen, solar, onshore&offshore wind. We aim to contribute to the decarbonization of industrial players, including our own industry. We are looking for a Project Manager in our Power Systems, Grid & Concessions team. In this role, you will provide your high voltage and grid expertise to Hydro’s largest industrial plants, power stations and renewable projects related to project development, grid conditions and security of supply. This is a great opportunity for you with interest in and ambitions around development of competitive energy and decarbonization solutions.

Area of responsibility

  • Provide high voltage and grid expertise to Hydro’s plants and projects especially related to 
    • Project development
    • Security of supply issues 
  • Manage relations and develop cooperation with grid operators and other external partners and bodies including regulatory authorities 
  • Participate in or manage internal and external expertise networks.

Qualifications 

  • Master level in Electrical engineering/Industrial economics or equivalent
  • Understanding of transmission and power systems; operational, planning and regulatory issues
  • Experience from relevant energy projects 
  • Commercial and analytical mindset with understanding of strategic implications 
  • Team oriented with strong cooperative and communicative skills, both oral and written
  • A driving force within project development and new ways of working
  • Ability to work cross functionally to build network, both internally and externally
  • Fluent in English and Norwegian
